Get Your Dose Of Vitamin Sea.

“If life is a journey, the beach is my destination”.–– We’re swimming in a sea of cringe with that one. Sometimes avid travelers don’t mean any harm; they just want to inspire others to live their best lives. Thanks to their concerns, the cliche travel quotes were born. It’s tough to narrow them down, but here are quotes that make us cringe and quotes that are spot on.

1. “Travel Far Enough To Find Yourself”.

You probably just left this page for a second because your eyes were rolling to the back of your head. It might not be the best advice for everyone to run far away to find themselves. What if who you truly are likes to be at home wearing pajamas?

2. “Quit Your Job, Buy A Ticket, Get A Tan, Fall In Love, Never Return”.

Wouldn’t that be nice? If it was that easy, there would be a lot more sunkissed unemployed lovers living far away from home. This quote is an inaccurate fantasy that puts everyone’s life on the same level. Not everyone has the luxury to quit their jobs and run away to the tropics.

3. “It’s Not About The Destination, It’s About The Journey”.

It’s either this or “take the road less traveled” that wins for the most overused travel quotes in history. Whoever says this must always fly in first class and has never taken a twelve-hour bus trip without an air conditioner.

4. “Traveling. It Leaves You Speechless, Then Turns You Into A Storyteller”.

Yuck! This quote is an example of poetic language language in its cheesiest form. And not the expensive cheese–– the processed stuff that looks like plastic. This one’s for people who want to boast about their amazing travel stories that’ll make everyone else jealous.

5. “The Only Trip You Will Regret Is The One You Don’t Take”.

Well, doesn’t this inspire you to drop everything and book a trip to anywhere? Point taken, don’t miss out on a trip you wish to take because you’ll regret not going, but it’s still cringy.

6. “Happy Times Come And Go But The Memories Stay Forever”.

It’s hard to come across quotes about memories that don’t make us cringe. It’s true, life is a roller coaster full of smiles and frowns. We suppose this cliche was written to give people hope and remind us of happy memories.

7. “Travel Not To Escape Life, But So Life Doesn’t Escape You”.

Buzz kill alert: Sometimes we need a reminder that not everyone is privileged enough to travel for the sake of traveling. Some people need to escape their life situations to find something better. But if you’re a traveler, it makes sense to live out this cheesy quote.

8. “Take Only Memories, Leave Only Footprints”.

We like the sentiment behind this one but it still deserves an honorable mention for cringe-worthy. When we visit somewhere, we should clean up after ourselves and not take anything that isn’t ours to take. Thanks for the reminder!

9.  “If It Scares You It Might Be A Good Thing To Try”.

What if it scares you because it’s very dangerous and your life is at risk? Maybe we should rethink this cliche. Standing at the edge of a cliff is scary and it’s probably best not to try standing closer for a selfie.

10. “Plane Tickets Are The Answer. Who Cares What The Question Is”?

What should we have for dinner? Plane tickets. What’s your favorite color?–– You get the picture.

If those travel quotes made you uneasy then read on to aid your discomfort with laughter.

1. “Sometimes The Road Less Traveled Is Less Traveled For A Reason”.

We can thank funny man Jerry Seinfeld for this reality check. Have you ever been to a fork in the road where one way is paved and the other is full of potholes and cliff edges? Maybe stick to the more traveled road this time around.

2. “Backpacking Is The Art Of Knowing What Not To Take”.

You can spot a first-timer when their heavy overstuffed bag is causing them to walk lopsided. Sheridan Anderson says it right with this quote, knowing how to pack light and smart is the key to a successful backpacking trip.

3. “I Need A Six Month Vacation, Twice A Year”.

Amen. Who decided working more than vacationing is the way to live your life? Why didn’t the author of this quote get to choose the way of humanity? We don’t need businesses to run, do we?

4. “If You Look Like Your Passport Photo You Probably Need The Trip”.

We have to carry our passports around for years, flaunting our portraits to all the authorities to have scanned into the worldwide system, yet it’s widely known to be the worst photo we have of ourselves. Most countries don’t allow you to smile so you either look grumpy or like you’ve just committed a crime.

5. “I Get Emotionally Attached To The Cars Ahead Of Me On Road Trips”.

If you’re a frequent road-tripper then you can relate! When the car you’ve been staring at the back of for hours decides to take an unexpected turn you feel like you’ve been dumped. You were used to them leading you on your journey and assumed you were headed to the same place and we’re going to become best friends.

7. “My Favorite Childhood Memory Is My Parents Paying For My Holidays”.

Oh, to be young again! At the time, you probably didn’t realize that your parents paying for your entire March break vacation was the most precious gift. We may reconsider dependency on our parents again if it means free travel.

8. “The Closer You Are To Nature, The Further You Are From Idiots”.

On a remote hiking trip through the mountains, you likely won’t encounter any stupid animals or dumb trees. Just don’t become the idiot if you come across a bear.

9. “I’m In A Complicated Relationship With My Luggage”.

Packing is hard! You don’t want to pack too much but you don’t want to pack too little. You wish you could bring your entire wardrobe but wouldn’t you sacrifice those shoes for the comfort of your shoulders?–– It’s complicated.

10. “I Don’t Know Where I’m Going But I’m On My Way”.

Google Maps is both a blessing and a curse. We’ve become so dependent on the app that when we don't have it, we forget how to read a regular map and get lost. Whether you actually know where you’re going or not, this quote is relatable to many humans just trying to figure life out.
