1. Explore Machu Picchu, Peru

Take a trip down to the Galápagos Islands, the place where Charles Darwin created his theory of evolution. You'll discover a number unique animal and plant species only found on the island. 13. Trek to the Lost City, Colombia
Adventure lovers should visit Ciudad Perdida (The Lost City). Built by the Tayrona civilization, the ancient city is in the heart of the jungle. The trek will take you a few days, but the reward is well worth it.

14. Visit the Sacred Valley, Peru
If Machu Picchu wasn’t enough, you’ve got to explore the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The site is much lower on the mountains, and therefore much larger. You’ll see what the traditional villages used to look like and how they built their gardens to maximize efficiency. There are also a number of local shops and restaurants that will blow you away!

15. Tour Wine Country in Mendoza, Argentina
Some of the best wines come from Mendoza, Argentina.
There are a number of different vineyards where you can indulge in the many Malbec options. Also nice that you're surrounded by mountains on all sides in the heart of Argentina.

16. Experience Patagonia’s Glaciers, Argentina/Chile
See some glaciers up close in Patagonia. Nowhere makes you appreciate the beauty of the world around us quite like towering blocks of ice such as the famous Perito Moreno Glacier. There are always boat tours that will give you a view from the water, or you can hike there on land.
